Installation position of filler flap (module)

Information 

The filler flap (module) will be damaged during removal and must be replaced during installation.

Information 

The following description is shown as an example for the fuel filler flap (cover). All actions are also valid for work on the flap side part (cover). The illustrations are shown as mirror images.

1. Disengage emergency release for filler flap (module) -1-  from the side trim panel -2-  .

2. Unclip clip -2-  on emergency release for filler flap (module) -1-  .

3. Open the filler flap.
4. Remove fuel tank cap.
5. Loosen filler flap (module).
   1. 5.1 At the marked positions -arrow A-  , pierce the module using a screwdriver. -arrow A-

   2. 5.2 Release locking lugs on filler flap (module). -arrow B-

   3. 5.3 Pull off rubber sleeve. -arrow B-  .

6. Remove filler flap (module).

   Removing filler flap (module)

   1. 6.1 Swivel filler flap (module) out of the body aperture until the electric plug connections are accessible.
   2. 6.2 Release and unplug electric plug connections -1 and 2-  .
   3. 6.3 Pull drain hose -3-  off the filler flap (module).
   4. 6.4 Remove filler flap (module).
7. Unclip retaining strap -3-  on filler flap (module) and remove fuel tank cap -4-  .
