Installing PORSCHE Double-Clutch Transmission

  1. Check whether input shaft is fitted with a circlip on the double-clutch shaft splines. If not:
    1. 1.1 Coat shaft splines -3-  with Longtime 3EP. 
    2. 1.2 Carefully fit input shaft -1-  until the circlip -2-  engages -Arrow-  .

  2. Mount transmission on engine.
    1. 2.1 Deactivate parking lock.

      > 387411 ACTIVATING AND DEACTIVATING PARKING LOCK

    2. 2.2 Fit transmission and mount it on the engine by turning the output shaft.
    3. 2.3 Activate parking lock.

  3. Secure transmission on the engine.
    1. 3.1 Screw in new screws -1-  and -2-  by hand.

    2. 3.2 Screw in and tighten screws -Arrows-  in transmission support > Initial tightening 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)  + > Torque angle 90°

    3. 3.3 Fit bracket -2-  and screw in new screws -1-  by hand.

  4. Tighten screws.
    1. 4.1 Tighten screws -1-  to -4-  in the specified tightening sequence > Initial tightening 20 Nm (15 ftlb.)  + > Torque angle 60° 
    2. 4.2 Tighten screws -6-  to -9-  in the specified tightening sequence > Initial tightening 15 Nm (11 ftlb.)  + > Torque angle 105°

  5. For all-wheel drive vehicles: 
    1. 5.1 Replace circlip -1-  and O-ring -2-  on input flange on four wheel final drive.
      1. 5.1.1 Coat input flange -Arrow-  on all-wheel final drive lightly with Longtime 3EP.

    2. 5.2 Install connecting shaft -3-  .

      Using impact puller 9799

      1. 5.2.1 Fit connecting shaft -3-  on the all-wheel final drive and install using > 9799 - impact puller-1-Arrow-  .
    3. 5.3 Check installation position of the connecting shaft -1-  . The connecting shaft is fitted correctly if the groove -2-  is visible.

    4. 5.4 Remove > 9799 - impact puller  from the connecting shaft.
  6. The remaining installation steps are performed in reverse order.
