Removing Brake Booster

Information 

When carrying out work during which fluids can escape, leave electric plug connections to be disconnected locked and connected for as long as possible. This prevents fluid from getting onto electric contacts and causing corrosion.

  1. Disconnect vacuum line -1-  with adapter -2-  from the brake booster and move it aside.

  2. Disconnect brake lines -1-  .

    Brake lines

    1. 2.1 Disengage clip -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Unscrew nuts -3-.

      Information 

      • Close off the brake lines using suitable stoppers. 
      • Place a cloth under the brake booster to soak up emerging brake fluid. 
    3. 2.3 Pull out brake lines -1-  and set them aside.
  3. Remove electric lines -1-  .
    1. 3.1 Release and unplug electric plug connections -2-  .
    2. 3.2 Move electric lines -1-  aside.

  4. Unscrew nuts -1-  on brake booster -2-  .

    Push rod

    Information 

    Make sure not to damage the push rod boot when removing the brake booster.

    Information 

    The help of another person is required.

  5. Remove brake booster -1-  .
    1. 5.1 Press brake lines aside.
    2. 5.2 Swivel out the brake booster -1-  carefully (-arrow-  ) and remove it.
