Checking Brake System After Bleeding

Information 

  1. Open the reservoir.
  2. Connect the bleeding device to the reservoir and switch it on.
  3. Set the bleeding pressure to 2.0 bar.

    Information 

    • To check the escaping brake fluid, ensure absolute cleanliness and make sure there are no air bubbles. 
    • A transparent hose and a collecting bottle must be used to determine the amount of brake fluid used. 
  4. Open the rear right bleeder screw -1-  .

    Information 

    • After pressing the pedal down, the pedal must be held for 2-3 seconds and then slowly released. 
    • After the fifth time pressing the pedal, the brake pedal must be held down fully while closing the bleeder valve. 
  5. Press the brake pedal fully 5 times and tap the brake calliper gently several times using a rubber hammer.
  6. Repeat this procedure in the sequence rear left/front right/front left.
  7. Screw in and tighten bleeder screws -1-  .

    Front bleeder valves (grey cast iron): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.3 ftlb.) 

    Front bleeder valves (PCCB): >Tightening torque 20 Nm (14.8 ftlb.) 

    Rear bleeder valves (grey cast iron): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.) 

    Rear bleeder valves (PCCB): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)

    Information 

    The brake fluid level in the reservoir must be between the MIN and MAX markings after bleeding the brake system.

  8. Remove bleeding device from the reservoir and correct the brake fluid level if necessary.
  9. Start the engine in order to create a vacuum in the brake booster.
  10. Check brake pedal travel and pedal feel.
