Replacing Spring-Strut Mount

Information 

The following tools are required for replacing the spring-strut mount:

  1. Press out spring-strut mount.

    Pressing out spring-strut mount

    1 Nut
    2 Pressure piece T10205/3 
    3 Sleeve 9891/1-1 
    4 > VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder 
    1. 1.1 Centre the sleeve 9891/1-1  with the side with the smaller internal diameter (inside of sleeve is conical) and pressure piece T10205/3  on the spring-strut mount.
    2. 1.2 Press out spring-strut mount.
  2. Press in spring-strut mount.

    Pressing in spring-strut mount

    1 Nut
    2 Pressure piece 9891/1-2 
    3 Spring-strut mount
    4 Sleeve 9891/1-1 
    5 Pressure piece 9891/1-3 
    6 > VAS 6178 - Hydraulic cylinder 
    1. 2.1 Align the sleeve 9891/1-1  with the side with the smaller internal diameter and pressure piece 9891/1-2  on the spring-strut mount.
    2. 2.2 Align spring-strut mount with the trailing arm according to the position markings -A-  .

      Aligning spring-strut mount

    3. 2.3 Press in spring-strut mount as far as required until the outer ring of the mount is flush with the contact surface on the trailing arm.
