Replacing Hydraulic Mount

WARNING:
Mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic press
- Risk of squashing

→ Check that the press is working perfectly before use, particularly the safety components.
- Remove stop washer -1-

Stop washer mounting
- 1.1 Unscrew and remove screw -2- .
- Press off hydraulic mount.

1 > VW411 - Press tool 2 Hydraulic mount 3 > VAS 251 413 - Separating device WARNING: Danger of objects or loads falling down- Risk of squashing or crushing
→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
- 2.1 Place a suitable aid (e.g. foam) under the workshop press as the trailing arm will fall to the floor after you press it out.
Information
Tighten separating device only as far as required so that the trailing arm is not damaged!
- 2.2 > VAS 251 413 - Separating device must be aligned on the trailing arm in such a way that the core of the hydraulic mount is flat against the jaws of the separating device -A - .
- 2.3 > VW411 - Press tool must be centred on the trailing arm.
- 2.4 Press off hydraulic mount.

- Press on hydraulic mount -1-
using > 9891/2 - press-on tool

Pressing on hydraulic mount
- 3.1 Guide threaded rod of > 9891/2 - press-on tool into the hydraulic mount and screw it into the threaded bore on the trailing arm.
- 3.2 Align hydraulic mount with the trailing arm according to the position markings -A -

Aligning hydraulic mount
- 3.3 Position pressure piece -2- at the centre and screw on the nut -3- in order to press the hydraulic mount on slowly as far as it will go -arrow- .
- Fit stop washer -1-

Stop washer mounting
- 4.1 Tighten screw -2- > Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 ftlb.)
