Replacing Lower Trailing Arm

Information 

Deformation of the trailing arm can be checked using a printable template.

Template for checking deformation

• The template can be found in the PIWIS information system under Service Information - 4017 Lower trailing arm template. 
• Print the template, check printout based on the control dimension, copy the template to a piece of cardboard and cut it out in accordance with specifications. 
• If the contour of the trailing arm in the measuring area -X-  deviates from the contour of the template -1-  , the trailing arm must be replaced. 

1. Convert control arm spoiler -1-  to suit the new trailing arm.

   1. 1.1 Remove threaded joint -2-  and install it for the new trailing arm > Tightening torque 8 (6 ftlb.) Nm
