Installing Front-Axle Carrier
- Only for vehicles with ATF lines:
Secure piping -1-
as shown in -Illustration-
to protect the ATF lines -2-
on the front-axle carrier (piping can be ordered using the Spare Parts Information).
Piping
- Guide front-axle carrier into the vehicle using > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform and
> VAS 6832/7 - assembly fixture - Panamera G2
and fit it on the body.
- 2.1 Position elevating platform > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform with > VAS 6832/7 - assembly fixture - Panamera G2 under the vehicle and raise it carefully.
- 2.2 Only for vehicles with V6 engines:
Before moving the front-axle carrier into installation position, fit front-axle carrier on the engine mount on both sides of the vehicle.
Mounting for front-axle carrier on engine mount (V6)
- 2.2.1 Tighten fastening screw -1- > Initial tightening 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 90°
- 2.3 Secure electric line for transmission -2-
at -Position B-
on the anti-roll bar mount.

- 2.4 Align front-axle carrier according to the markings applied during removal -1-

Marking (example)
- 2.5 Tighten fastening screws on the front-axle carrier -1-
on both sides of the vehicle and fit struts -3-
.
Front-axle carrier to body, front -4- : > Initial tightening 70 Nm (51.6 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 180°
V6 only: Front-axle carrier to body, rear -5- : > Tightening torque 50 Nm (36.9 ftlb.)
Anti-roll bar mount to body -6- : > Initial tightening 70 Nm (51.6 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 180°
Strut with anti-roll bar mount to body -7- : > Initial tightening 70 Nm (51.6 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 180°
Strut to body -8- : > Initial tightening 50 Nm (36.9 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 45°
Mounting for front-axle carrier
- 2.6 > VAS 6832 - Master Gear unit elevating platform can now be lowered.
- Only for vehicles with V6 engines:
Tighten fastening screws -2-
securing engine mount -1-
to engine on both sides of the vehicle > Tightening torque 55 Nm (41 ftlb.)
Mounting for engine mount on engine (V6)
- Only for vehicles with V8 engines:
Fit engine mounts on both sides of the vehicle on the engine.
Mounting for engine mount on engine (V8)
- 4.1 Tighten fastening screw -2- > Initial tightening 70 Nm (52 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 90°
- 4.2 Only for vehicles with V8 diesel engines: Connect electric plug connection -1- to the engine mount and lock it.
- Fit and lock electric plug connection -3-
on the horn -1-
on both sides of the vehicle.
Mounting for horn
- Secure moulded hose -1-
at the bottom on both sides of the vehicle to the charge-air cooler.

- 6.1 Slide on and tighten screw-type clamp -bottom arrow-. > Tightening torque 5.5 Nm (4 ftlb.) +/- 0.5 Nm (0.3 ftlb.)
Information
Replace sealing ring.
Coat sealing rings with ATF.
- Only for vehicles with I-no. A8F or A8H:
Fit ATF cooling line -1-
on the ATF cooler.
Disconnecting ATF cooling line (front section) on ATF cooler
- 7.1 Remove stopper from line.
- 7.2 Connect ATF cooling line -1- to the ATF cooler and tighten fastening screw -2- .
- Only for vehicles with diesel engines:
Secure heat insulation at the top on both sides of the vehicle.
Mounting for heat insulation (diesel engines)
- 8.1 Tighten nuts -2- > Tightening torque 2.5 Nm (1.8 ftlb.)
- Fit universal joint -1-
on power-steering gear.
- 9.1 Align pins for steering column in accordance with markings for left/right-hand drive vehicles > Steering in centre position.

- 9.2 Tighten fastening screw -2- > Initial tightening 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) > Final tightening torque angle + 90°
Universal joint mounting
- 9.1 Align pins for steering column in accordance with markings for left/right-hand drive vehicles > Steering in centre position.
- Secure electric line -1-
on the power-steering gear -2-
.
Electric connectors on power-steering gear
- 10.1 Connect and lock electric connectors -3- .
- 10.2 Secure bracket -4- .
- Secure electric line for steering -1-
at -Position A-
on the anti-roll bar mount -3-

Information
Before connecting the 48 V connectors, check whether the sealing ring -1- is positioned under the locking lugs -2- in the connectors.
Carefully press the sealing ring back over the locking lugs if necessary.
