Tightening Sequence For High-Pressure Fuel Lines

Tightening sequence for fuel collection pipe - V8 Turbo

Tightening sequence for high-pressure pump and lines: 

1. Fit union nut -1-  by hand.
   1. 1.1 Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Leave to dry off for at least 5 minutes before fitting. 
2. Screw high-pressure pump -2-  into position.
3. Fit union nut -3-  by hand.
   1. 3.1 Coat thread on union nuts with Microgleit DF 977S. Leave to dry off for at least 5 minutes before fitting. 
4. Fit screws -4-  for the high-pressure pump.
5. Fit screw -5-  with holder by hand.
6. Press down the high-pressure pump and tighten screws -4-  .

   > Tightening torque 12 Nm (9 ftlb.) 

7. Tighten screw -5-  .

   > Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ftlb.) 

8. Tighten union nuts -1-  and -3-  .

   > Initial tightening 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

   > Final tightening + 50°
