Installing Fuel Tank

1. 1.1 Position the fuel tank -4-  and restraining straps using > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack  and a suitable base on the vehicle.
2. 1.2 Screw in screws -1 to 3-  by hand.
3. 1.3 Tighten the screws -1 and 2-  .
4. > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) 
5. 1.4 Tighten the screws -3-  .

   > Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ftlb.) 

6. 1.5 > VAS 6931 - Transmission and Engine Jack  must now be removed.

Fuel tank screws

1. 2.1 Connect and lock electric plug connection -3-  .
2. 2.2 Push on and lock quick connector -2-  .

Carbon canister line

1. 3.1 Position head of the filler tube -5-  in the filler flap seal.
2. 3.2 Fit and tighten screws on the fuel filler tube in the sequence -1 to 3-  .

   > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.) 

3. 3.3 Connect and lock electric plug connection -4-  .

1. 9.1 Fit protective cover -4-  .
2. 9.2 Fit and tighten screws -1 to 3-  .

   > Tightening torque 8 Nm (6 ftlb.)

1. 10.1 Connect and lock electric plug connections -2 and 3-  .
2. 10.2 Push on and lock plug-in coupling for fuel line -1-  .

1. 11.1 Position cover -1-  using marking -2-  to groove -3-  .
2. 11.2 Insert cover -1-  in the floorpan.
