Removing Coolant Regulator (Thermostat Insert)

1. Unclip air guide -1-  and remove it by pulling it down.

2. V6 biturbo only: 

   Remove suction hose -1-  .

   1. 2.1 Loosen screw-type clamps -2-  .
   2. 2.2 Disconnect suction hose -1-  .

3. Remove coolant pipe -2-  .
   1. 3.1 Unscrew screws for coolant pipe -1-  .
   2. 3.2 V6 monoturbo: Remove coolant pipe -2-  .

      V6 biturbo:  Pull off coolant pipe -2-  and set it aside.

4. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for coolant regulator -2-  .

   WARNING: Hot fluid 

   • Danger of scalding 

     → Let the fluid cool down.

     → Wear personal protective gear.

5. Remove coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1-  .
   1. 5.1 Unscrew screws -2-  .
   2. 5.2 Remove coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1-  .

6. Pull off seals -1-  using > VW771 - Multi-purpose tool-2-  and > VW771/37 - Puller-3-  .
