Bleeding The Cooling System

Information 

The instructions in the PIWIS Tester  take precedence and in the event of a discrepancy, these are the instructions that must be followed. A discrepancy may arise with later software versions.

Information 

• The coolant low-temperature system must be bled using the PIWIS Tester in the following situations: 
• Components of the low-temperature system are removed or replaced. 
• The reservoir for the low-temperature system is empty. 

1. Bleed the coolant low-temperature circuit by activating the relevant routine in the PIWIS Tester.
   1. 1.1 Switch on the ignition.
   2. 1.2 Start diagnostics.
   3. 1.3 Select Control unit/Thermal management and confirm your selection.
   4. 1.4 Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
   5. 1.5 Select Bleed low-temperature cooling system and press F12 to start.
   6. 1.6 Follow the instructions on the Tester.
2. Check the coolant level of the low-temperature system in the coolant reservoir.
   1. 2.1 Fill in coolant until the engine coolant level in the reservoir is slightly above the Max display.
3. The following step can be performed in order to check the bleeding process:
   1. 3.1 Charge high-voltage battery for at least 15 minutes.
