Adjusting Fuel Level Sender
Information
- For the Panamera 971, the calibration values from the fuel level sender are backed up in the backend. For calibrating the fuel level sender , > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 must have an online connection.
- Calibration of the fuel level sender is required after replacing the fuel tank or the fuel level sender. After replacing the instrument cluster, the Restore tank sensor calibration values procedure can be carried out. The tank sensor calibration values are retrieved from the backend and stored in the instrument cluster control unit during this procedure. If no fuel sensor calibration values are stored in the backend for the vehicle, the fuel level sender must be calibrated after replacing the instrument cluster.
- The fuel level sender does not have to be calibrated if the battery is disconnected or if a plug connection on the instrument cluster or fuel level sender is disconnected. The values remain stored in the instrument cluster control unit.
- A range on remaining fuel of less than 15 km is not displayed in the instrument cluster.
- Calibrate the fuel level sender.
- 1.1 Empty the fuel tank.
- 1.2 Check whether an empty fuel level is displayed in the instrument cluster.
Information
After draining or filling the fuel tank, the fuel level sender needs about one minute to react to this. If the new fuel level is not displayed after this time, the calculation of the fuel level can be triggered by releasing, disconnecting, connecting and locking the electric plug connection on the fuel level sender.
- 1.3 If necessary, release, disconnect and connect the electric plug connection on the fuel level sender until the lock engages securely in order to trigger the calculation of the new fuel level in the fuel tank.
- 1.3.1 Remove right rear seat.
