Removing Fuel Level Sender

  • Danger of poisoning or suffocation 
  • Danger of burns to the eyes and skin 

    → Ventilate the work area well.

    → Never ingest or inhale.

    → Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

    → Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials 
  • Danger of fire or explosion 

    → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

    → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

    → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

    → Contain leaked media using non-flammable absorbent material and put it in a container designed for this purpose for disposal in accordance with local requirements.

    → Secure collection containers/vessels to prevent them from tipping over.

  1. Pull cap -1-  up and off.

    Information 

    When disconnecting the auxiliary heating line, always check that there is no check valve installed in this area. If there is fuel pressure in the fuel tank, this can also escape unhindered when the line is disconnected.

  2. Expose the flange.
    1. 2.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  .
    2. 2.2 Release and disconnect quick connectors -2-  . Collect emerging fuel.

  3. Remove flange ring.
    1. 3.1 Mark position of the flange ring.
    2. 3.2 Release flange ring by turning it anti-clockwise using > T10202 - wrench  and remove it.

  4. Remove flange.
    1. 4.1 Lift the flange -1-  until electric plug connections -4-  and quick connectors -3-  are accessible.
    2. 4.2 Release and disconnect electric plug connections -4-  .
    3. 4.3 Release and disconnect quick connectors -3-  .
    4. 4.4 Remove flange -1-  and sealing ring -2-  .
    5. 4.5 Replace sealing ring -2-  .

  5. Remove fuel level sender -1-  .
    1. 5.1 Unclip electric line -3-  along the anti-swirl chamber -2-  .
    2. 5.2 Release fuel level sender holder -arrow A-  .
    3. 5.3 Guide fuel level sender -1-  up out of the guide -arrow B-  .
