Removing Engine Cover (Design Cover)

NOTE:
Components not fitted when engine is running or during test drive
- Risk of damage to components due to reduced cooling performance
→ Before starting the engine, make sure that all air-supply components are completely fitted.
→ Only start the engine when the heat shields and design cover are fitted.
→ Only test-drive the vehicle when all underbody panelling, heat shields and the design cover are fitted.
- Carefully pull the design cover -1-
off the four fastening points one at a time -arrows-

Design cover
- Set design cover -1-
down with the visible side on a soft surface -2-
and check it.
- 2.1 Check heat insulation, spotwelds and air baffle plates for damage.
- 2.1.1 Replace design cover if it is damaged.
- 2.2 Check rubber elements -3- for damage and replace them if necessary.
- 2.1 Check heat insulation, spotwelds and air baffle plates for damage.
