Engine Number Marking

- For all work described, comply with country-specific, national, legal and official regulations, local restrictions and export restrictions. Information
- Number embossing tools must not be used for marking.
- Due to the material composition, the engine number must be engraved using the specified tool.

Marking pin VAS 221 003
- 1.1 Connect > VAS 221 003 - marking pen-1- to compressed air supply.
- 1.2 Turn the adjusting ring -Arrows- to adjust the compressed air supply.
- 1.3 First test the tool on a test part.
- Use the marking pen to engrave the engine number into the crankcase.
Example of engine number
- 2.1 If reusing engine number:
- 2.1.1 Engrave the existing engine number onto new crankcase or new short and partial engine with an additional X.
- 2.1.2 Example: *DCKA000128X*
- 2.1.3 Document the process in the Warranty and Maintenance Booklet in the Your Vehicle - Vehicle Data Carrier section.

- 2.2 To provide a clear marking, use a 0.5 (5 mm) template!
