Replacing Stone Guard Film

  1. Heat stone guard film -1-  using > V.A.G 1416 - Hot-Air Blower  and pull it off.

    Removing stone guard film

  2. Remove adhesive residues using cleaning agent.

    Information 

    • Bonding surfaces must be free of silicone, grease and oil residues. 
  3. Clean the paint surface with isopropyl and rub it dry using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing cloth.
  4. Coat bonding area with application fluid.

    Information 

    Only pull off thin protective film after bonding.

    Information 

    • Affix stone guard film immediately after spraying. 
  5. Pull off backing sheet and coat the bonding area of the stone guard film with application fluid.
  6. Affix stone guard film -1-  along the front edge -2-  of the rear wheel arch with gap dimension -z-  and press it on lightly. Adjust the position slightly if necessary > Distance 3 mm +/- 1 mm

    Affixing stone guard film

    Information 

    Adhesive is activated by contact pressure. Contact pressure is at least 2 kg.

  7. Press on stone guard film from the inside out using a plastic squeegee to squeeze out water and bubbles.
  8. Pull off thin protective film.
  9. Dry off the entire area using a lint-free, moisture-absorbing, non-scratching cloth.
  10. Check affixed stone guard film.
    1. 10.1 Check that there are no bubbles.
    2. 10.2 Check that the corners are affixed correctly.
    3. 10.3 Press them on again if necessary.
