Adjusting Rear Spoiler (Wing)

- Check gap dimensions.

> Gap dimension 4 mm +/- 0.7 mm
> Gap dimension 3.5 mm +/- 0.5 mm
> Gap dimension 0.5 mm +/- 0.5 mm
> Gap dimension 3.5 mm +/- 0.8 mm
> Gap dimension 0.5 mm +/- 0.5 mm
> Gap dimension 3.5 mm +/- 0.5 mm
> Gap dimension 0.5 mm - 0.3 mm +/- 0.4 mm
- For adapting the gap dimensions in X and Y direction.
Rear spoiler (wing)
- 2.1 Extend rear spoiler fully using PIWIS Tester III.
- 2.2 Loosen screws -1- until the rear spoiler (wing) can still be moved.
- 2.3 Retract rear spoiler (wing) fully using PIWIS Tester III.
- 2.4 Adjust rear spoiler (wing).
- 2.5 Check gap dimensions.
- 2.6 Extend rear spoiler (wing) fully using PIWIS Tester III.
- 2.7 Tighten screws to > Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.4 ftlb.) .
- For adapting the gap dimensions in Z direction.

- 3.1 Mark position of rear spoiler (wing) -1-

- 3.2 Loosen screws -1-
until the shims -2-
can be removed.
Rear spoiler (wing)
- 3.3 Replace shims -2-
with corresponding shims from repair kit 974.898.037.

Always replace self-locking screws.
- 3.4 Position rear spoiler (wing) -1-
and tighten screws until the rear spoiler (wing) can still be moved.

- 3.5 Retract rear spoiler (wing) fully using PIWIS Tester III.
- 3.6 Check gap dimensions.
- 3.7 Extend rear spoiler (wing) fully using PIWIS Tester III.
- 3.8 Tighten screws to > Tightening torque 6 Nm (4.4 ftlb.) .
