Removing Crankshaft

  1. Loosen bearing covers on crankshaft.
    1. 1.1 Mark position of bearing covers -1-  .
    2. 1.2 Unscrew and remove screws -2 and 3-  .

  2. Remove bearing cover -2-  using > T40332 - puller-1-  and > VW771 - multi-purpose tool  .

    Using special tool for bearing covers

    1 > T40332 - Puller 
    2 Crankshaft bearing covers
    3 Grub screws - for securing the puller on the bearing cover
    4 Threaded bores - for holding the grub screws
  3. Remove crankshaft.
    1. 3.1 Remove crankshaft with the help of another person and set it down on a clean surface.
    2. 3.2 Remove bearing shells and place them with the relevant bearing covers.
