Replacing Brake Fluid

- Open threaded cover on the reservoir.

- Switch on the bleeding device. Set bleeding pressure to approx. >Pressure 2 bar

Information
- Check brake fluid quality. Use only new DOT 4 brake fluid.
- Brake fluid can be ordered using the Porsche Electronic Parts Catalogue (PET).
- There are two bleeder valves on the brake calliper. Brake fluid must be drained at both bleeder valves.
- Change the brake fluid at all four brake callipers one after the other. Do this in the following sequence: rear right/rear left/front right/front left.
- 4.1 Use a transparent hose and a collecting bottle to check the escaping brake fluid for cleanliness, absence of air bubbles and to determine the amount of brake fluid used.
- 4.2 Drain brake fluid at both bleeder valves on each brake calliper.
Per brake calliper: >Change brake fluid (on each wheel) approx. 250 cm3
- Tighten bleeder valves to the stipulated tightening torque and remove bleeder hoses.
Front bleeder valves (grey cast iron): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.3 ftlb.)
Front bleeder valves (PCCB): >Tightening torque 20 Nm (14.8 ftlb.)
Rear bleeder valves (grey cast iron): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)
Rear bleeder valves (PCCB): >Tightening torque 14 Nm (10.5 ftlb.)
- Switch off the bleeding device and remove the adapter at the reservoir.
- Carry out a visual inspection of the brake fluid level and correct the brake fluid level if necessary. The brake fluid level must be between the MIN and MAX markings. -arrow-
