Removing Coolant Regulator (Thermostat Insert)

  • Risk of cracks, pricks or cuts 

    → Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Remove air guide -1-  in a downward direction.

  2. Remove suction hose -1-  .
    1. 2.1 Loosen screw-type clamps -2-  .
    2. 2.2 Disconnect suction hose -1-  .

    WARNING: Hot fluid 
    • Danger of scalding 

      → Let the fluid cool down.

      → Wear personal protective gear.

  3. Remove coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1-  .
    1. 3.1 Release electric plug connection -2-  and pull it off -arrow A-  .
    2. 3.2 Unscrew and remove screws -3-  .

    3. 3.3 Guide out coolant regulator (thermostat insert) -1-  .
    4. 3.4 Pull out new  seals -1-  using > VW771 - Multi-purpose tool -2-  and > VW771/37 - Puller -3-  .
