→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position (vehicle resting on wheels).

Information

Threaded joints must only be tightened in zero position to prevent warping in the bearings.

Only for the right drive shaft: Install front axle support (rear section).

Installing wheel bearing housing.
> WM, 405019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL BEARING HOUSING
Installing front underbody cover.

Install header tank panel cover.
> WM, 852219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PLENUM PANEL COVER COUPE or WM, 852219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING PLENUM PANEL COVER WAGON
Raise the wheel bearing housing as far as required using a jack (e.g > VAS 6931 - engine and gearbox jack ) until the lower trailing arm is horizontal > Zero position (shown on rear axle as an example)

Tighten bolts securing spring strut to lower trailing arm -2- > Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) > Final tightening + 120°
