Replacing Control Unit For Memory Seat Adjustment
NOTE:
Voltage drop
- Irreparable damage to control unit
- Damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Control unit programming/coding is aborted
- Malfunctions in the control unit, even during programming/coding
→ Switch off ignition before disconnecting the control unit.
→ Make sure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming/coding.
→ Connect the battery charger with at least > current 90 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with future Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in > 9900 - PIWIS Tester 3 .
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if required.
- Select the Driver/Passenger seat memory control unit in the Overview . Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic coding must now be selected. Press F12 to continue.
- The Tester displays the message: Coding was completed successfully.
- Maintenance/repairs
must now be selected.
Information
For some equipment variants, standardization must be performed on both the driver's side and passenger's side.
- Standardize seat motors must be selected. Press F12 to continue and then press F8 to start.
- Follow the instructions on the Tester.
- The seat automatically moves to various seat positions. When the seat remains stationary for a few minutes, press F12 to continue.
- Read out the fault memory , correct faults that are stored if necessary and clear the fault memory.
- Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
