Removing Wire Harness For Removable Trailer Hitch

Information 

Replace screws. Do not modify or lubricate micro-self-locking screws.

1. Switch off ignition and remove remote control (hand-held transmitter).
2. Loosen upper part of cover -1-  from the trailer hitch motor by turning it -A-  and remove it -B-  .

3. Release and unplug electric plug connections -1 and 2-  .

   1. 3.1 Release electric plug connection -1-  using a screwdriver -a-  and disconnect it.
   2. 3.2 Release and unplug electric plug connection -2-  .
4. Loosen tie-wrap -arrows-  .

5. Unscrew screws -1-  and pull out plug socket -2-  .

6. Disassemble plug socket.
   1. 6.1 Loosen catches on the socket housing -3-  using a screwdriver.
   2. 6.2 Pull off lower part of socket housing -1-  and push back rubber seal -2-  .
   3. 6.3 Release catches on electric plug connection using a screwdriver and pull off socket housing -3-  .

7. Guide plug socket through the cut-out on the trailer hitch.
8. Release electric plug connection -1-  on the trailer hitch control unit and disconnect it.

9. Remove wire harness for trailer hitch -2-  .
   1. 9.1 Press grommet -1-  out of the body and guide wire harness for trailer hitch -2-  out of the body.
   2. 9.2 Loosen tie-wraps.
   3. 9.3 Remove wire harness for trailer hitch -2-  .
