Loosening Main Wire Harness In Passenger Compartment At The Left

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness

Risk of damage to lines
→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for airbag sensor at the rear door sill.

Unclip holder -1- for electric plug connection for rear seat.

Unclipping holders
Release and disconnect electric plug connection for airbag triggering unit.

Unclip line bracket -1- (-arrows- ) and guide out electric line -2- for airbag triggering unit.

Unclipping line bracket
Unclip locking lugs -arrows- and remove cable cover -1- on rear inner sill.

Release and disconnect electric plug connection for head airbag.

Unclip line bracket -1- and set electric line for head airbag -2- down in the footwell.

Unclipping line bracket
Release and disconnect electric plug connection on rear door.
> 585119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR DOOR

Disconnect electric line for door electrics.

9.1 Press locking lug -arrow- and disengage mounting housing -1- .

9.2 Pull electric line out of the B-pillar.

Screw off nut -1- on ground point at the bottom of the B-pillar and remove ground lines -2- .

Unscrewing nut
Release and disconnect electric plug connection for left seat-belt pretensioner.

Unclip locking lugs -arrows- and remove cable cover -1- on front inner sill.

Release electric connectors -1- for left seat connection and remove them from the holder.

Loosen fuse box under front seat.
> 978409 LOOSENING AND SECURING FUSE BOX UNDER FRONT SEAT
Screw off nut -1- and remove fuse carrier -2- .

Unclip line bracket -1- and set electric line for air vent -2- down in the footwell.

Unclip locking lugs -arrows- and remove cable cover -1- at the A-pillar.

Disconnect electric connectors at the A-pillar (connection point for wire harness for dashboard).

22.1 Release and unplug electric plug connections -1- .

22.2 Unclip electric connectors from the holders.
