Loosening Main Wire Harness In Left Wheel Housing

NOTE: Incorrect handling of main wire harness 
  • Risk of damage to lines 

    → The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

    → The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

    → If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

  1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on the front air-spring strut at the top.

    > 433019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT AIR-SPRING STRUT

  2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for air-conditioning line sensor.

    > 874419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING EVAPORATOR/CONDENSER LINE

  3. Release and unplug electric plug connection -1-  .

    Releasing and pulling off electric plug connection

  4. Unclip line bracket -1-  from wire harness for spring strut -2-  and guide it into the wheel housing.

  5. Disconnect electric connector on cooling fan housing.
    1. 5.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on cooling fan housing.
    2. 5.2 Unclip line bracket -2-  .

  6. Unclip line bracket -1-  from electric line -2-  and guide it into the wheel housing.

    Unclipping electric line

  7. Panamera 4S only:

    Disconnect electric wire harness for temperature sensor for pressure pipe.

    1. 7.1 Release and disconnect electric plug connection on pressure pipe.

      > Removing and installing pressure pipe (V6 biturbo) 

    2. 7.2 Unclip line bracket -1-  from electric line -2-  and guide it into the wheel housing.

      Unclipping electric line

  8. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for horn.

    > 905019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HORN

  9. Unscrew nuts -1-  and remove ground lines -2-  .

  10. Unclip line bracket -3-  and guide electric line into the wheel housing.

  11. Release and disconnect electric plug connection for hydraulic unit.

    > 453019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING HYDRAULIC UNIT

  12. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on front angle sensor for headlight beam adjustment (HBA).

    > WM, 947819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT ANGLE SENSOR FOR HEADLIGHT BEAM ADJUSTMENT (HBA)

  13. Release and disconnect electric plug connections -1-  from spring strut and brake.

  14. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on airbag sensor at the lock carrier.

    > 695119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING AIRBAG SENSOR

  15. Unscrew nuts -1-  and remove ground lines -2-  .

  16. Unclip line bracket -3-  .

  17. Disconnect electric plug connections and loosen wire harness from front apron.

    > 631519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT APRON

  18. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on the headlight.

    > WM, 941519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING MAIN HEADLIGHTS

  19. Loosen main wire harness from cable duct.
    1. 19.1 Unscrew screws -1-  and open cable cover -2-  .
    2. 19.2 Unclip line bracket -3-  and disengage main wire harness -4-  from holder -5-  .
    3. 19.3 Remove main wire harness -4-  from cable duct.

  20. Release and disconnect electric plug connection on ignition module for lid.

    > 696919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING IGNITION MODULE FOR FRONT LID

  21. Release and disconnect electric plug connections on DME control unit.

    > 247019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DME CONTROL UNIT

  22. Release and disconnect electric plug connections for power-steering gear.

    > 489055 REPLACING POWER-STEERING GEAR

  23. Unscrew screw -1-  and remove ground lines -2-  on PDCC control unit.

  24. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  on PDCC control unit.

    1. 27.1 Press lines aside until the nuts -1-  are accessible.
    2. 27.2 Unscrew nuts -1-  and remove grommet -2-  from the body.
