Replacing PCC/PVTS Control Unit

NOTE: Voltage drop

Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.

→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.

→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A to the vehicle battery.

Information

The PIWIS Tester instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms; different text or additions may appear in the PIWIS Tester .

Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on the ignition.
Switch to the PPN portal Porsche Car Connect Support .
Select Replacement of devices .
1. 3.1 Enter the vehicle identification no.
2. 3.2 Check vehicle details; the vehicle contract status must be set to active .
3. 3.3 Press the button Initialise procedure for replacing a device .
4. 3.4 Select a reason for replacement.
5. 3.5 Replacement of devices can now be started.
6. 3.6 Wait for the timer to end, read instructions and press Next .
7. 3.7 Document the displayed installation code .
8. 3.8 Exit the portal.
Information

Before installing the new control unit, the control unit specifications must be documented/photographed.

If a problem occurs while teaching/activating the control unit following installation, you will need the control unit specifications for the Hotline.
Remove the old PCC/PVTS control unit and install the new PCC/PVTS control unit.

In the overview , press F7 to select the Rear end control unit. Press F12 to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press F11 to continue.
Select Coding/programming .
Select Automatic coding . Press F12 to continue.
1. 7.1 The Tester displays the message: Coding completed successfully.
Select Porsche Vehicle Tracking System (PVTS).
Select Maintenance/repairs .
Commissioning must be selected. Press F12 to continue.
1. 10.1 Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester.
2. 10.2 Perform procedure according to menu guidance.
Back to the overview.
Read out all fault memories and erase them if necessary.
Exit the diagnostic application. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
