Removing rear axle housing

- Press electric connector -2-
for level sensor on both sides of the vehicle together and disconnect it.
- Only for vehicles with PASM:
Release and pull off connector -2- on both sides of the vehicle.
- Release locking lugs -1-
and remove stone guard -2-
.
- Unscrew fastening screw -2-
and remove washer -1-
.
- Remove stone guard -1, 2, 3-
if fitted.
- Transmission and Engine Jack WE 1599
must be positioned under the rear axle housing -1-
with a suitable piece of wood -2-
underneath. Also secure rear axle housing with strapping belts 9454
.
- Unscrew front fastening screws -1-
on both sides of the vehicle.
- Unscrew rear fastening screws.
Information
When lowering the rear axle housing, always check that all electric lines are disconnected.
- Carefully lower the rear axle housing with accessories. Be careful of the brake callipers and lines while doing so.
