Preliminary work

Information 

Before replacing the hydraulic valve, perform Guided Fault Finding using the PIWIS Tester and run the DME short test "Valve lift". This is essential in order to avoid replacing the hydraulic valves unnecessarily.

The hydraulic valves are on the rear side of the cylinder heads facing the plenum panel.

  1. Remove cross panel. → 508119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING CROSS PANEL (DISASSEMBLING PLENUM PANEL) .
  2. Cylinder bank 1 to 3: 

    Remove vacuum pump → 477619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING VACUUM PUMP .

  3. Cylinder bank 4 to 6: 

    Disconnect coolant pipe.

    1. 3.1. Loosen coolant pipe holder.
