Installing camshaft timing gear

The tightening specifications for the basic engine are stored centrally.

- Lift timing chain and fit camshaft timing gear carefully on the camshaft. In order to have sufficient play in the timing chain, turn the loosened camshaft controller back and forth if necessary. Fit timing chain on camshaft timing gear.
- Fit screw for camshaft timing gear and screw it in loosely.
- Screw in the four screws on the sprockets and camshaft controllers as far as possible (it must still be possible to turn the sprockets and camshaft controllers to set the timing).
- Set the timing.

- 4.1. Do not tighten the sprockets and camshaft controllers to the final tightening until after the timing has been set.
