Installing intermediate steering shaft

- Position intermediate steering shaft -1-
from within the passenger compartment.
- Fit intermediate steering shaft -3-
as far as it will go onto the steering column -1-
.
Information
Always replace the clamping screw on the universal joint.
Tighten fastening screw -2- . Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.)
- Insert sealing bellows -1-
as far as possible from within the passenger compartment.
Make sure that the two arrows -1- are pointing upwards.
- Secure the sealing bellows on the underside of the vehicle.
- 4.1. Pull sealing bellows -1- in through the opening.
- 4.2. Fit the sealing bellows -1- onto the collar -2- of the body completely using the tabs without turning the sealing bellows.
- 4.3. Then check the installation position of the sealing bellows in the passenger compartment using the arrows. The arrows must be pointing straight up.
Loosen the sealing bellows, turn it to the correct installation position and fit it again if necessary.
- Fit intermediate steering shaft -1-
as far as it will go onto the steering gear -3-
.
