Installing steering column

Installation is performed in reverse order to removal. Pay particular attention to the following:

1. Position steering column.
2. Screw in all seven fastening screws on the steering column. Do not tighten!
   1. 2.1. Screw in fastening screws -1-  and -2-  at the top of the retaining frame. Do not tighten!

   2. 2.2. Screw in fastening screws -1-  at the bottom of the mounting saddle. Do not tighten!

3. Tighten fastening screws in the following sequence:
   1. 3.1. Tighten fastening screws -1-  at the top of the retaining frame. Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)

   2. 3.2. Tighten fastening screws -2-  at the top of the retaining frame. Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.) 
   3. 3.3. Tighten fastening screws -1-  at the bottom of the mounting saddle. Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)

4. Connect electric plug connection -1-  until it locks securely.

   Information 

   Always replace the clamping screw on the universal joint.

5. Fit intermediate steering shaft -3-  onto the steering column -1-  as far as it will go.

   Tighten fastening screw -2-  on universal joint. Tightening torque 30 Nm (22 ft. lb.)
