Installing rear brake calliper

Old mounting parts fitted on the brake calliper
- Reduced braking effect
- Risk of damage to the brake calliper
→ Fit new pad retaining springs
Information
When replacing the brake pads, always pay attention to the following:
- The back of the pad backing plates must not be greased .
- Pull off any protective film on the back of the pad backing plates .
- Check brake discs for wear . For details of wear limits, see → 465302 CHECKING REAR BRAKE DISCS (WEAR ASSESSMENT) .
- Disc brakes must be clean and free of grease .
- The core of the warning contact line must not be exposed! Worn insulation is not important .
- Use a new repair kit (only replace the brake pads on the same axle) .
- Check that all parts are in perfect condition (visual inspection) and replace them if necessary.
- Installation is performed in reverse order. Pay particular attention to the following:

Make sure that the brake hose and electric line are clipped in and secured correctly in the combination holder at the wheel bearing housing so that the brake hose and electric line cannot come out of the holders.
- Clip brake hose dry (without using sliding compound) into the holder at the wheel bearing housing.
- Observe specified tightening torques:
Calliper carrier to wheel bearing housing: Initial tightening 100 Nm (74 ft. lb.) Final tightening +90°
Brake line to brake calliper: Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)
