Removing radiator

WARNING: Working with ATF
  • Possible danger of injury or damage (e.g. swollen hoses, skin irritation, danger of slipping, etc.)

→ Before lines are opened, place a cloth underneath them!

→ Components that come into contact with ATF must be cleaned IMMEDIATELY with water!

→ Take appropriate protective measures (protective clothing, safety goggles, oil binding material)

→ Collect emerging ATF!

CAUTION: Hot components
  • Risk of burns

→ Let hot components cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Release ATF lines -1 and 2-  at the top of the engine compartment and disconnect them.
    1. 1.1. Soak up emerging ATF with a cloth.

  2. Release vacuum line -1-  from the holders.

  3. Release and disconnect electric connectors for fans -1, 2-  .

  4. Release retaining clip and disconnect upper coolant line -1-  from the radiator.

  5. Disconnect lower coolant line from the radiator.
  6. Unscrew screws on the radiator holder.
    1. 6.1. Unscrew screws -1-  on the holder -2-  .
    2. 6.2. Unscrew screws -4-  at the bottom.
    3. 6.3. Lift radiator -3-  up in direction of travel and remove it by pulling it forward.
