Removing coolant pump

Information 

  1. Loosen the three fastening screws on the coolant pump pulley. Block the pulley with counter-hold tool Nr.38  or counter-hold tool Nr.193  if necessary or if the belt drive is removed.

  2. Loosen drive belt around the coolant pump. For details, see → 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT
  3. Unscrew the three loosened fastening screws on the pulley and remove the pulley.
    NOTE: Incorrect handling of pulley
    • Risk of damage to pulley

    → The pulley is sensitive to impact. Do not prise off the pulley with a screwdriver.

    → Do not re-use a damaged pulley.

  4. Loosen and unscrew the fastening screws -2-  on coolant pump -1-  .

  5. Remove coolant pump -1-  .

  6. If the coolant pump is stuck, loosen it by gently tapping with a plastic hammer.
