Draining coolant

WARNING: Hot fluid

Danger of scalding

→ Avoid contact with hot fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

NOTE: Cooling circuit not filled correctly

Risk of damage to vehicle components

→ Do not start the engine after relieving the system pressure.

→ Fill the cooling system correctly and bleed it before starting the engine.

Information

Completely drain the cooling system using pressure.

Screw cap from cooling system tester WE 1550 onto the reservoir .
Apply max. 2 bar to the cooling system .

Open the cap on the coolant reservoir.

Remove strut -2- on the lock carrier at the right.

2.1. Unscrew fastening nut -3- .
2.2. Unscrew fastening screw -1- .

2.3. Remove strut -2- at the right.

Unscrew drain plug -1- on the coolant connection piece -2- and collect emerging coolant in a suitable container.

3.1. Use a new O-ring if necessary.

Tighten drain plug with O-ring.
