Removing heating/fresh-air unit

Information
Before re-installing the component, check the O-rings on the refrigerant lines for damage and replace them if necessary.
The O-rings on the refrigerant lines must be coated with refrigerant oil.
All refrigerant lines and connections must be closed off using suitable stoppers during removal.
Stoppers for lines and connections must not be opened until shortly before installation.
- Remove fresh air/recirculated air/ram air housing.
- Unscrew fastening screws -1- on the air-conditioning lines -2- .
- Disconnect air-conditioning line -2-
from the expansion valve.
- Remove air guides for dashboard outlet vents at the left and right.
- Remove screws on heating/fresh-air unit (on driver's side).
- 5.1. Fold carpet outwards at the upper edge.
- 5.2. Unscrew screw -1- on the threaded joint for the heating/fresh-air unit -2- .
- If installed in the vehicle: Remove air guide for the air vent in the rear center console -C- .
- Loosen air guides for rear footwell outlet vents -A and B-
from intermediate piece -D-
and remove intermediate piece -D-
.
- Release and disconnect electric plug connection for servo motors -1-
.
- Remove heating/fresh-air unit from the vehicle.
