Checking engine oil

- The vehicle must be standing horizontally.
- The engine must be at operating temperature (60°).
- Wait a few minutes after stopping the engine.
- Always check that there is enough engine oil in the engine.
WARNING:
Hot fluid
- Danger of scalding
→ Avoid contact with hot fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
NOTE:
Incorrect oil level
- Risk of damage to engine or catalytic converter
→ Check the oil level regularly.
→ The oil level must not fall below the Minimum marking or rise above the Maximum marking.
→ Only use engine oil approved by Porsche.
Information
- The engine-oil level can be checked on the instrument cluster display or using the oil gauge tester.
- For details of checking the oil level using the instrument cluster, see Driver's Manual.
- Check using oil gauge tester T40178 as follows:
- Position marking area on the tester using the adjusting ring.
- Set adjusting ring on the upper scale to the value specified in the table.
The value is shown on the lower edge of the setting ring!
- Read off the value on the lower scale.
