Installing fuel pump

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ventilate the work area well.

→ Never ingest or inhale.

→ Read specific information on the Hazard Sheet.

→ Do not smoke, eat or drink in the work area.

→ Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

→ Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

→ Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

Information 

• Absorb any escaping fuel using a suitable binding material or a cloth  .
• Cloths which have absorbed fuel must be disposed of according to the applicable national laws  .
• The fuel system must be depressurized before starting work on it  .
• Only work on the fuel system in well-ventilated rooms  .
• Any seals which have been removed must always be replaced  .
• Do not use any sealant containing silicone or silicone spray when the injection system is open. Traces of silicone drawn in by the engine are not combusted and damage the oxygen sensors  .

Information 

• The guiding rod of the fuel level sender must not be deformed  .
• If the guiding rod is deformed, the fuel level sender must be replaced  .

1. Guide fuel pump module -1-  with new  seal -2-  into the fuel tank.

   Installing fuel pump with sucking jet pump: 

2. First, guide the line -2-  of the sucking jet pump -1-  into the fuel tank and pre-position it at the baffle plate -3-  .

3. Guide the chamber -1-  of the fuel pump into the fuel tank and clip the sucking jet pump -2-  into the chamber -3-  . Check that it locks correctly.
   1. 3.1. Secure the fuel pump in the fuel tank.
   2. 3.2. Carry out subsequent work in the same way as for the fuel pump without sucking jet pump.

   Further tasks for all fuel pumps: 

4. The fuel pump -1-  fits only at one position on the tank flange.

5. Fit lock -1-  and tighten it using wrench T10202 -2-  by turning it in -direction of arrow-  .

   Tightening torque 110 Nm (81.5 ft lb.)

6. The arrow on the lock -1-  must be at the previously marked position.

7. Connect lines above the fuel pump.
   1. 7.1. Connect electric plug connection -5-  and -6-  .
   2. 7.2. Guide Cayey bushing -1-  into the guide on the body.
   3. 7.3. Connect fuel lines -4-  and -7-  .
