Preliminary work

  1. Drain the fuel tank. → WM 2010EN Emptying and filling the fuel tank .
  2. Remove rear seat. → 724819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR SEAT
  3. Disconnect battery ground terminal.
  4. Remove rear axle. → 420519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR AXLE HOUSING
  5. Remove rear wheel housing liner at the right. → 536919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR WHEEL HOUSING LINER
  6. Remove heat protection.
    1. 6.1. Unscrew nuts -1-  and remove heat protection panel at the center rear -2-  .
    2. 6.2. Unscrew nut -3-  and remove heat protection panel at the right -4-  .

  7. Unscrew screws -1-  and remove heat protection for fuel tank -2-  in direction of arrow.
