Removing hydraulic unit

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2016 Porsche Macan and 2015 Porsche Macan. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Replacing the hydraulic unit/control unit
  • The hydraulic unit forms a single unit with the control unit.
  • The hydraulic unit and control unit are always replaced together.
  • When replacing the hydraulic unit/control unit, the new assembly must be to hand before the old one is removed.
  • The data as well as the coding of the old control unit must be transferred to the new unit before the old one is removed.

→ When replacing, note the following: → 453055 REPLACING HYDRAULIC UNIT/CONTROL UNIT .

Information 

  1. Place a suitable cloth underneath to catch any emerging brake fluid.
  2. Disconnect brake lines -1-  .

    1. 2.1. Mark the brake lines to prevent them from being confused.
    2. 2.2. Unscrew cap screws for the brake lines.
    3. 2.3. Pull brake lines -1-  out of the bores and close off immediately  using suitable stoppers.
    4. 2.4. Lay brake lines aside carefully  , fixing them in place if necessary.
  3. Pull off electric push-on connector -2-  .

    1. 3.1. Pull slide lock -1-  up.
    2. 3.2. Pull off electric push-on connector -2-  .
  4. Pull hydraulic unit together with control unit and holder up and off.
