Coding PASM control unit

- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit

- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least 90 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The PIWIS Tester 3 9900 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester 3 9900 .
- Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start the Tester. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type if required.
- Select the Levelling system/PASM control unit in the overview . Press [F12] to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press [F11] to continue.
- Extended identifications must now be selected.
- Enter the vehicle identification number (VIN) and press [Enter] to confirm your entry.
- Coding/programming must be selected.
- Automatic coding must now be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
- The Tester displays the message: Coding was completed successfully . Press [F12] to continue.
- Maintenance/repairs must now be selected.
- Height sensor system calibration must be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
- Read and follow the instructions and information on the Tester. Perform procedure according to menu guidance.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
