Subsequent work

- After removing or replacing the high-pressure pump/high-pressure components, the following functions must be run using PIWIS Tester II 9818
.
- 1.1. Select "System check for high-pressure pumps" in the Maintenance/repairs menu
- 1.2. Select "First start function" in the Maintenance/repairs menu
Information
- The high-pressure connections do not have to be opened in order to bleed the system. The fuel system is bled automatically.
- If there is still air in the fuel system, the engine can switch to emergency operation during the test drive. Switch off the engine, delete the fault memory and continue the test drive.
- Bleed the fuel system and perform a leak test. → WM 200101 CHECKING FUEL SYSTEM (HIGH-PRESSURE SIDE) FOR LEAKS
- 2.1. Leave the engine running at idle speed for a few minutes without pressing the accelerator.
- 2.2. Turn off the engine and switch off the ignition.
- 2.3. Carefully perform a visual inspection of the high-pressure area of the entire injection system.
- 2.4. Then test-drive the vehicle for more than 20 km (12 miles) with at least one full-throttle acceleration.
- 2.5. Visually inspect the high-pressure area again for leaks.
- Install engine cover.
