Installing heater

Information
- There is no guarantee that re-used clamps will secure the component properly .
- Removed clamps must be replaced .
- Always use new clamps during installation .
- Connect electric plug connections -1-
until they engage securely.
- Position the heater.
- 2.1. Position rubber sleeve -1- on the retaining pin -2- .
- 2.2. Engage clip -3- for the holder in the cut-out -4- .
- Secure the heater.
- 3.1. Loosely fit fastening screws -1-
for the holder -2-
at the top and bottom.
- 3.2. Slide flexi-pipe -2-
and screw-type clamp -1-
onto the silencer pipe -3-
.
- 3.3. Tighten fastening screws -1- on the holder -2- to the prescribed tightening torque. Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)
- 3.4. Tighten screw-type clamp -1- .
- 3.1. Loosely fit fastening screws -1-
for the holder -2-
at the top and bottom.
- Secure coolant hoses.
- 4.1. Push coolant hoses -1- as far as they will go over the adapters.
- 4.2. Tighten spring band clamps -2- using assembly pliers Nr.72 Pos.1 .
- 4.3. Hose clamp 3094 -3- must then be removed from the coolant hoses -1- .
- Clip wiring harness -1-
onto the coolant hose -2-
at the marked positions.
- Connect electric plug connection -1-
to the circulating pump -2-
until it engages securely.
- Clip wiring harness -1-
into the holder -2-
at position -arrow-

- Secure the fuel line to the heater.
- 8.1. Push on fuel line -2- as far as it will go or up to the marking - minimum overlap: 25 mm.
- 8.2. Tighten spring band clamp -3- using assembly pliers Nr.72 Pos.1 .
- The fuel system must also be pre-filled. To do this, connect PIWIS Tester II 9818 to the vehicle.
- Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type and start the PIDT.
- Select the auxiliary heater control unit in the overview .
- Maintenance/repairs must then be selected.
- Line filling must now be selected. Then press Next.
