Centring camber on the front axle

Information 

Camber at the front axle cannot be adjusted. But camber can be centered evenly within the tolerance range by moving the front-axle carrier.

All axle adjustment values must be checked whenever the camber is adjusted!

  1. Remove front underbody panelling → 519219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR FRONT UNDERBODY .
  2. Unscrew fastening screws -1 and 2-  and remove heat shields at the left and right.

  3. Loosen fastening screws -1 and 3-  on the transmission support -2-  . This ensures that the transmission mount is not strained.

  4. Loosen fastening screws -1 to 8-  on the front-axle carrier.

  5. Raise the front of the vehicle at the lifting platform jacking points using an axle lift.
  6. Move the front-axle carrier with engine mount and anti-roll bar to the required position using a plastic-coated tyre iron. Before checking the camber values, compress the vehicle at the front axle several times.

  7. Screw in and tighten new fastening screws -1 and 4-  one after the other.

    Step 1: Initial tightening 115 Nm (85 ft. lb.) 

    Step 2: Final tightening +90° 

  8. Screw in and tighten new fastening screws -2 and 3-  one after the other.

    Step 1: Initial tightening 115 Nm (85 ft. lb.) 

    Step 2: Final tightening +90° 

  9. Screw in and tighten new fastening screws -5 and 8-  one after the other.

    Step 1: Initial tightening 115 Nm (85 ft. lb.) 

    Step 2: Final tightening +90° 

  10. Screw in and tighten new fastening screws -6 and 7-  one after the other.

    Step 1: Initial tightening 115 Nm (85 ft. lb.) 

    Step 2: Final tightening +90°

  11. Tighten fastening screws -1 and 3-  on the transmission support -2-  . Tightening torque 70 Nm (52 ft. lb.)

  12. Check the camber value again.
  13. Install heat shields at the left and right and tighten fastening screws -1 and 2-  .

    Fastening screws -1-  : Tightening torque 9 Nm (6.5 ft. lb.) 

    Fastening screw -2-  : Tightening torque 20 Nm (15 ft. lb.)

  14. Install front underbody panelling → 519219 REMOVING AND INSTALLING COVER FOR FRONT UNDERBODY .
