Teaching additional handset/telephone handset

Information 

The PIWIS Tester 3 9900  instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.

The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester 3 9900  .

CAUTION: Voltage drop
  • Risk of damage to control unit
  • Fault entries in the control unit
  • Coding in the control unit is aborted
  • Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming

→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.

→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A  to the vehicle battery.

  1. Connect the Tester to the vehicle and start it. Switch on ignition.
  2. Select the vehicle type if required.
  3. Select the PCM  control unit in the overview  . Press [F12] to continue. The message "Create Vehicle Analysis Log (VAL)?" appears. Press [F11] to continue.
  4. Drive links/checks  must now be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
  5. PCM drive links  must be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
  6. Engage additional handset in the charging cradle.
  7. Teach handset  must be selected. Press [F12] to continue.
  8. Start the activation process by pressing [F8].
  9. Read the information displayed on the Tester. The entry Activation (value = on)  is required. Press [F11] to go back.
  10. Exit the diagnostic application.
  11. Switch off the ignition.
  12. Disconnect the Tester from the vehicle.
  13. Check the function of the handset.
