Information

Calibrating the Surround View camera balances the tyres, chassis tolerances and installation tolerances of the camera.

The calibration system WE 1793 is required for calibration .
During calibration, the control unit for the Surround View camera calculates the vehicle-specific adjustment values (e.g. image rectification) for the camera image .
After the actual calibration process, which takes approx. 2 minutes, the rectified image can be seen on the vehicle display .

Information

Calibration must only be performed on level ground.

The required surface area for successful calibration is approx. 9 x 6 m.

On vehicles with air suspension, switch on ignition, close the doors and set the air suspension to Comfort .

The following basic requirements must be observed:

Calibration mats must be clean and dry .
Luminous intensity must be at least 400 lux .
Calibration mats must be free of wrinkles or kinks .
There must be no shadows visible on the calibration mats .
To prevent damage and/or soiling, do not walk on calibration mats .

Information

When calibrating the vehicle for the first time using the calibration system WE 1793 , the control unit may be flash-programmed automatically to a new software version by PIWIS Tester 3 9900 .

Park the vehicle on a level, open surface.
Position the charger in such a way that it is not in the direct line of vision of the front camera.
Clean the calibration mats with a cloth or soft brush.
Align calibration mats for the calibration system WE 1793 .

Align star symbols on the calibration mats with the height at the center of the front axle.

The calibration mats must be aligned parallel to the vehicle.

Distance from calibration mats to vehicle: approx. 20 - 50 mm.

The distance between the calibration mat and vehicle must be the same on both sides.

The difference in the distance between the front and rear calibration mats must not be more than 5 mm.
