Enabling functions

Information
On vehicles with the equipment variant heated steering wheel, multi-function steering wheel, cruise control or on-board computer, a function enable process must be carried out after replacing the steering wheel electronics control unit.
- Determine function enabling code in PIWIS
- Connect the PIWIS Tester to the vehicle and start the PIWIS Tester. Switch on ignition.
- Select the vehicle type and start the diagnostic application.
- Select Steering wheel electronics using the cursor keys and press [F12].
- Select Maintenance/repairs .
- Select Function enable using the cursor keys and press [F12].
- Select the function, enter the function enabling code and press [F8] to save your entries.
- Repeat the process for other functions.
- Read out the fault memory and erase it if necessary.
- Function test: Perform a test drive.
- Read out the fault memory.
