Calibrating reversing camera
- Risk of irreparable damage to control unit
- Risk of damage to control unit
- Fault entries in the control unit
- Coding in the control unit is aborted
- Malfunctions in control unit, even during programming
→ Prior to disconnecting the control unit, switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
→ Ensure that the power supply is not interrupted during programming.
→ Connect a battery charger with a current rating of at least → Nominal value: 40 A to the vehicle battery.
Information
The PIWIS Tester 3 9900 instructions take precedence since the description may be different with later Tester releases.
The procedure described here has been structured in general terms. Different text or additional information may appear in PIWIS Tester 3 9900 .
Information
When you calibrate the reversing camera by selecting Calibrate reversing camera in the PIWIS Tester, the reversing camera control unit is then coded automatically. To do this, follow the relevant instructions on the PIWIS Tester.
- Wheel center support with right reflector
- Wheel center support with left reflector
- Right stop bracket for distance measuring unit
- Left stop bracket for distance measuring unit
- Linear laser
- Distance measuring unit
- Spirit level for adjusting calibration board in X and Y direction and cut-out for measuring calibration board height
- Height-adjustable calibration board base
- Calibration pattern
- Reversing camera
X1 - Distance from calibration board to right reflector
X2 - Distance from calibration board to left reflector
Information
The surface of the calibration board must be clean and free of objects.
- Align the linear laser -5-
.
- 1.1. Position the distance measuring unit -6- at the right stop bracket -3- of the calibration board and measure the distance -X1- to the right reflector -1- . The distance must be approx. 1, 00 mm.
- 1.2. Position the distance measuring unit -6- at the left stop bracket -4- of the calibration board and measure the distance -X2- to the left reflector -2- . The distance must be approx. 1, 00 mm.
- 1.3. The difference between distance -X1- and distance -X2- can be max. 1 mm.
