Removing B-pillar cover: Notes

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment.
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant.
• Some steps must be carried out automatically.
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.

1. Guide out rubber seal -1 -  at the cover -2-  .
2. Guide out wire harness -3-  at the brackets for the cover -2-  .
3. Unclip cover -2-  from door inner panel, guide out door release cable at the cover -2-  and remove cover -2-  .

4. Loosen and remove window frame cover from the door.

5. Slide the window down until the mountings -4-  are accessible through the cut-outs in the door inner panel.
6. Loosen door window glass -1-  from the relevant mounting points -4-  on the power windows mechanism.
   1. 6.1. Actuate locking mechanism -2-  and remove limit stop -3-  on the power windows mechanism.

      Move door window glass -1-  down until the locking mechanism -5-  is accessible.

      Actuate locking mechanism -5-  using a suitable tool -arrow A-  and carefully raise the door window glass -1-  (-arrow B-  ).

   2. 6.2. Pull door window glass -1-  fully up -arrow B-  out of the mounting points -4-  .

7. Pull inner rubber seal -1-  in the side area of the cover and at the bottom out of the door frame.
8. Carefully adjust the door window glass -2-  until the screws -3-  are accessible.
9. Unscrew screws -3-  .

10. Slide the cover -1 -  down slightly -arrow A-  , detach it from the door and then guide it up and out -arrow B-  .
